The preschool session flows straight into care. Lunch, a proper nap, then an afternoon of activity through to 6 p.m. — no handovers, no second commute.
A shorter afternoon for children who are still building stamina, or families where one parent finishes early. Ideal as a stepping stone into full days.
A dedicated nanny alongside the teaching team, for younger children or those who need closer one-to-one support to settle and thrive.

A daycare is only as good as the number of adults in the room at 4 p.m. on a difficult Thursday. These are the ratios we run to, and we would rather turn a family away than exceed them.
Our BTM campus is licensed for up to 100 children in preschool and 88 in daycare — but the rooms are organised into small, stable groups, so your child is with the same handful of faces each day.

The daycare afternoon
Children in daycare are not parked in front of a screen until you arrive. The afternoon has its own shape, with plenty of room to simply be a child.
Unstructured, child-led time — the part of the day where imagination does its real work.
Running, climbing, balancing and ball games in safe play spaces, so energy has somewhere to go.
Mixed-age play that teaches negotiation, patience and looking after someone smaller than you.
Quiet, absorbing craft work — including pottery and messy play that is worth the clean-up.
Rhythm, dance and song — the fastest route into language for a child who is still finding words.
Targeted, gentle work on clear articulation for children who need a little extra help being understood.
Meals and snacks prepared fresh, with dietary needs and allergies recorded and respected. Tell us what your child cannot eat and it will not appear on their plate.
Dimmed lights, individual bedding and a quiet room. Children who no longer nap get a proper rest period instead — nobody is made to lie still for an hour they do not need.
CCTV covers the daycare rooms with live video access for parents. Check in between meetings; you do not need a reason and you do not need to ask.
Daycare questions
Daycare generally starts from around two years, and preschool from about two and a half. Younger siblings and infants can often be accommodated in assisted care — call us and we will be straight with you about whether we currently have the right ratio available.
Yes. Most families start with a short settling-in period, and many move from half days to full days once their child is comfortable. We would far rather you took the slower route than pushed a child who is not ready.
We do, and we follow your lead at home so the child gets one consistent message. Accidents are handled calmly and without fuss, and spare clothes stay in your child’s bag.
We give first aid, settle the child somewhere quiet, and call you immediately — before you hear it from anyone else. For anything beyond a scraped knee we will ask you to collect, both for your child and for everyone else in the room.
Transport can be arranged for families in and around BTM Layout. Availability depends on the route, so please ask us when you enquire and we will confirm what we can cover.
Daycare runs to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday. If Silk Board has other plans for your evening, call the campus — we will keep your child settled and tell you honestly how late we can hold.
